NEW BEAUTY POST HOOKERS! Anddddd, as voted on from my IG story, I'm going to tell you what five makeup products you NEED in your life (and on your face).
I love doing my makeup. For me, my goal is to always make it appear like I'm not wearing a crazy amount of makeup. I love the nAtuRal look and these five products help me achieve that!
Disclaimer: unfortunately none of these products are sponsored. They're all just products I LOVE and have used consistently because they actually work.
I wear shade 8 and I have been using this foundation consistently for around four years. When I used to be a tv reporter down in Florida I struggled with finding my perfect foundation shade. The girls at my local Sephora were so nice and always giving me samples of foundation so I could try to find one that matched and also gave me good coverage.
It wasn't until I tried this Armani foundation did I FINALLY find a foundation that looked natural but also covered my acne scars. If you're looking for something super full-coverage this isn't the foundation for you. It will give you a beautiful, dewy finish with light-medium coverage. If you can get to a Sephora ask the sales associates if you can get samples of different shades to try it before you purchase.
This foundation is definitely a little pricer than others on the market.. it retails for $64 for 1 oz. For me, it's worth the price and I've be loyally repurchasing for years. If you do try it I found best application with a damp beauty blender!
This product is the shit. It is hands down the BEST primer I have every used, especially in the summer. According to Sephora, this product is "an award-winning, hydrating, makeup-gripping gel primer that’s formulated with extracts of hemp-derived cannabis seed and blue agave."
For me, this is my ideal primer because it's reallyyyy tacky and does live up to the name, it grips your makeup. I have struggled with primers separating which then makes my makeup look like shit. I've been using this primer for the past 6 months and can't see myself trying anything new. This shit works, plus it has hyaluronic acid in it which plumps the skin. Keeps your makeup on and hydrates your skin? Bitch, buy this. The full size retails for $30 and a little goes a long way!
I'm going to say something that may be controversial to my makeup gurus out there but... I have never seen the point of spending a ton of $$ on concealers. I think a lot of the pricey ones are drying and there's nothing special about them. I have tried some cult favorites, like Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer, and thought it made my under-eye skin dry and just look awful in photos.
I have been using my Maybelline concealer for the past five years and will never try anything else. It's under $10 and I love the fluffy applicator the concealer comes out of. I like a much lighter under eye concealer, so I use shade 10 fair! I get this from Target or CVS and it's such a good product - highly suggest giving it a try!
I actually stole this from my Mom so... Mom if you're reading this I'm sorry!!! This is hands down the BEST mascara I have ever used. Comes in black or a brightening blue shade and retails for $25.
I love this mascara because it is so volumizing and almost mimics a lash lift. The brush is nice and flexible and doesn't leave my lashes clumped. Instead the brush helps separates them! I am in-between having lash extensions due to COVID-19 restrictions and this mascara has helped me reach my lash goals during these trying beauty times.
This is Rihanna's makeup line and I absolutely love the diversified shade range. There is legit an undertone shade for everyone - I'm such a fan of this brand. I have had a love/hate relationship with bronzers. Mainly because I struggled with properly applying them in the past. I feel like I have finally mastered my bronzer placement and this Sun Stalk'r bronzer is the best.
It's a matte finish and goes on soooo nice on my skin. I use the shade Caramel Cutie and it's great for my neutral undertones. Retails for $30 and I typically apply with a bronzer brush and then go over with a damp beauty blender to buff it out. This gives me such a nice summer glow and I can't see myself using anything but this bronzer.
